Tomorrow evening I am attending and volunteering at a premier culinary and beverage tasting fundraising event in Washington, DC. I highly encourage people in the Washington area to consider purchasing a ticket for what promises to be a fabulous evening of charity, food, wine, and fun! An evening where hundreds of professionals come together to support StreetWise Partners where we will sip, sample, and create and impact. Come connect and celebrate emerging leaders who are giving people the opportunity to work their way out of poverty.
Proceeds from this event will benefit StreetWise Partners, an innovative 501(c)(3) nonprofit that engages companies and volunteer business professionals to provide low-income adults with career pathway mentoring and access to job search networks to achieve lifelong employability.
Mandu, Dolcezza Gelato, Tamarindo, Oceanaire, La Tomate, CircaAnhueser Busch, Heineken, Republic National Distributing Company, BreadsodaCafe, Raku, and many others!
Established in 1997 by young corporate professionals on Wall Street, StreetWise Partners works to empower motivated, low-income individuals to be able to achieve the job they want. Our unique model matches business mentors with motivated participants, who work with them over 14 weeks to develop their employability skills, including hard skills (computer training, resume creation) and soft skills (communication, professional etiquette, networking). Together, we help economically distressed adults develop the job-search competence, the necessary soft and hard skills, and the access to professional networks to secure sustainable and career-advancing employment and be employable in the rapidly changing global economy.
